Abstract

Women’s health issues have long been stigmatized within traditional socio-cultural contexts, with topics such as menstruation and gynecological diseases excluded from public discourse. With the rise of social media, a growing number of users have produced content and discussed such issues, while scholarly and industrial exploration of women’s health knowledge communication has continued to deepen. This paper reviews domestic and international literature on women’s health communication, stigma, and shaming related to women’s health, summarizes existing research findings and limitations, and proposes directions for future inquiry. It aims to provide implications for advancing women’s health knowledge communication and supporting the Healthy China initiative.
