Abstract

As digital technologies, exemplified by artificial intelligence, increasingly prevalent in daily life, their significant influence on human health cognition, beliefs, and behaviors continues to grow. The second session of The 7th International Conference on Medicine, Humanity, and Media (MHM 2024) convened on July 9. This session, themed "Health Communication and Public Perception," was moderated and reviewed by Jiang Li, Associate Professor at the Department of Media and Communication, City University of Hong Kong, and Jeff Niederdeppe, Senior Associate Dean & Professor at the Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy, Cornell University. The symposium proceeded smoothly, with contributions from six scholars who presented their most recent research on a range of topics including health chatbots, the impact of artificial intelligence on cognitive functions, digital health intervention strategies, women's health screening, disease management in the elderly, and mental health in pregnant women. This event assembled health communication scholars from around the globe and underscored the critical role of effective health communication in the digital age.
